Success Stories: Chelsea Perrett

I’m sitting here wondering how to begin capturing the amazing, personal development journey that Chelsea has been on for the past 2 years.

When Chelsea first contacted us via Facebook in 2017 she was at a place where she was feeling lost. Life had thrown a series of punches and Chelsea was feeling the force of it. Chelsea had been laying great foundations by working with a counsellor but she felt that there was something more to explore when it came to her wellbeing.

In her search for something more strength-focused Chelsea stumbled across us. After reading about our unique approach she made the decision to leap out of her comfort zone by booking in for a complimentary connection call.

The Next Steps…

I’ll never forget our first phone call because we instantly connected and I could tell that we would be able to help.

Since we first connected Chelsea has completed:

  • The BU Confidence & Purpose Mastery Program which focuses on teaching the fundamental skills of wellbeing and personal development
  • The BU Alumni Program which allows graduates to go deeper into their personal development and wellbeing. This is Coaching at it’s purest form.
  • Plus Chelsea is now one of the first members on our brand new Impact & Leadership Program. In this program, Chels is learning how to mentor others and make a positive impact in the lives of those around her.

Throughout the journey Chelsea has repeatedly demonstrated the BU Vision of making an impact, starting with self. Everything Chelsea learns through coaching has been used to make a positive impact not only in her own life but in the lives of others as well. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness the impact it has had on her marriage, in her daughter’s life and in the lives of all the kids she influences as a teacher.

What Am I Most Proud of as Chelsea’s Coach?

Without a doubt, I’m most proud of how much Chelsea has re-connected with and embraced her authentic self. It’s truly an honour to see her continually deciding to be true to herself and create a life that aligns with her values.

Whether that be stepping back into leadership roles, getting new tattoos or even jet setting around the world to see her live music (especially her favourite band, Queen). It’s amazing to see Chels living a life enriched with experiences, memories and fulfilment.

What Have the Biggest Personal Development Takeaways Been for Chelsea Thus Far?

When we reached out to Chels to ask her what her biggest takeaways have I couldn’t help but smile at her answers:

  1. “The journey never ends. I’m always learning, reflecting, growing and changing and it’s awesome!” (keep in mind that this is someone who was not a fan of change at all when we first met)
  2. “I’ve learnt to take a breath and be more mindful before reacting or over-responding to a situation”
  3. “What you put in you’ll get out. Whilst Declan can hold my hand and guide me through this journey it’s ultimately up to me to make a difference in my life” (We LOVE this level of emotional responsibility!)

A Final Word…

Whilst these takeaways are amazing it was Chelsea’s final statements that I feel really captured the beauty of her journey thus far:

Coaching has positively impacted my life in so many ways. From travelling all over the world seeing my favourite band play to really realising what takes priority in my life: my family, and my friends who feel like family. I now surround myself with people who feel like sunshine and who love me for my authentic self. Ever since I began this personal development journey with Declan as my Coach I’ve truly embraced my favourite life motto from Sir Richard Branson – “Screw It, Let’s Do It”
